    A Catholic Perspective on Gender Identity

    Two-Part Workshop in English April 3 & 10 | 7pm - 8:30pm In the past decade, there has been increased attention paid to gender dysphoria and gender discordance, especially among young children and adolescents. This is coupled with the widespread notion that the solution to such dysphoria is to affirm one's "experienced gender" over and against one's biological sex. What does the Catholic Church teach about these issues and how do we, the faithful, respond? Deacon Tom Walter, PhD, will present a two-part workshop that aims to provide parents, grandparents, and guardians of children and adolescents with information about these global and national trends, as well as a proper understanding of Church teaching regarding gender identity, in recognition of the pastoral sensitivities regarding this matter, and the real and profound struggles individuals of good will face.

    The Little Flower Group 2:42

    The Little Flower Group 2:42 is a group of women who are committed to following the teachings of the apostles, participating in fellowship, attending mass, and devoting themselves to prayer (Acts 2:42). Each year, they offer programs that provide an opportunity for women to come together for meaningful discussion, prayer, and mutual support. Their Small Group creates a welcoming space where participants can truly be seen and heard. This Lent, they will focus on “The Bible and the Virgin Mary”, a faith resource by FORMED, only in Spanish. Join The Little Flower Group 2:42 and learn why the early Church called Mary the "New Eve" and the "Ark of the New Covenant," and strengthen your devotion to Our Blessed Mother.     Do you want to learn to achieve silence and peace? To free you from anguish and fear? Come, learn to live, attend a Prayer and Life Workshop! During the 15 week workshop participants will learn a practical method of prayer, learning to pray by praying. Through the practice of faith and surrender and as a result of praying, participants begin to heal the wounds of the heart and experience greater serenity. By contemplating the image of Jesus and imitating his characteristics, participants slowly begin to be transformed into a person more like Jesus.     Alpha Course

    This Alpha Course will meet weekly on Tuesdays from 7p-8:30p Join a series of group conversations that freely explore the Christian faith in an open, friendly environment. At each Alpha session, you will share a meal, watch an episode on a different question of faith - and then have a chance to share your thoughts and hear what others think. You can say anything you like or nothing at all. Everyone is welcome, no matter your background or beliefs. It’s FREE, and there is no pressure to come back. Meal and childcare will be provided. Volunteer Opportunity: We need volunteers to make each Alpha session happen. If you have never volunteered before, we will train you. Training will be conducted 01/14/2025 at 6:30pm.
