Confirmation
Grades 6-12
Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism through a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit. In this sacrament, candidates are strengthened with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, more deeply united to Christ and His Church, and empowered to live as faithful witnesses of the Gospel. Through Confirmation, Catholics are called to grow in holiness, actively participate in the life of the Church, and share Christ's love with the world.
The Confirmation Journey
Students entering 6th through 11th grade will enroll in Year 1 of the Confirmation preparation. Upon successful completion (80% attendance rate) of Year 1, students become eligible to enroll in Year 2 as they continue preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Session Times
- Middle School (Grades 6–8): Sundays, 3:45–4:45 PM
- High School (Grades 9–11): Sundays, 6:30–8:00 PM
Confirmation preparation includes both large-group and small-group sessions, providing students with opportunities to grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith, build relationships with their peers, and become more connected to the parish community.
Please Note: EDGE and LIFETEEN youth groups are no longer required for Confirmation preparation.

Important Upcoming Updates to Confirmation
Throughout the Archdiocese of Atlanta, the minimum grade for receiving Confirmation is being lowered to 6th grade. Prince of Peace will be implementing this change during the 2026-2027 school year. Children as young as 5th grade who register for Faith Formation (either 5th grade-POP Families or 6th-12th grade Confirmation Prep/Sacramental Prep), will serve as the first year of their two-year Confirmation journey. During the 2027-2028 school year, these youth may then be eligible to participate in their final year Confirmation preparation to receive the sacrament in 2028.
