Important Upcoming Updates to Confirmation

In the upcoming years, throughout the Archdiocese of Atlanta, the minimum grade for receiving Confirmation is being lowered from 10th grade (norm) to 6th grade (norm). At Prince of Peace, implementation will begin as follows. During the 2026-2027 school year, children as young as 5th grade who have been baptized and received First Eucharist can register for Faith Formation (namely: 5th grade-POP Families or 6th-12th grade Youth Ministry), which will serve as the first year of their two-year Confirmation journey. During the 2027-2028 school year, these youth may then be eligible to participate in a specific Confirmation preparation to receive the sacrament in 2028.
