Parish Council
The Parish Council holds a unique and consultative role within a parish community. This council serves as a representative body of the faithful and acts as a crucial bridge between the pastoral leadership and the parishioners. The primary objective of the Parish Council is to provide counsel and support to the Pastor on matters of significance concerning the parish.
Unlike a formal Board of Directors with legal authority, the Parish Council’s purpose is advisory in nature. It doesn’t hold decision-making power that extends to legal or financial matters, but rather focuses on matters that impact the spiritual and communal aspects of the parish. By working closely with the Pastor, the Parish Council aims to enhance the promotion of the Gospel message within the parish community.
The Parish Council’s responsibility extends beyond just internal church affairs; it aims to consider the broader welfare of the entire parish community. By representing the diverse perspectives and needs of the faithful, the council contributes to fostering a vibrant and inclusive parish life. This consultative body becomes a vital platform for dialogue and collaboration, allowing the voice of the parishioners to be heard in matters that shape the parish’s direction.
Our goal is that everyone has a voice here at Prince of Peace. The Parish Council is a microcosm of that truth and is a resource for each parishioner to communicate ideas and insights to the leadership at POP. The Parish Council’s impact rests in its ability to facilitate open communication, promote the Gospel message, and ensure the holistic betterment of the parish community.
