He asked them ‘Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?’ “Because no one has hired us, they answered.” “He said to them, ” You also go and work in my vineyard.’ – Matthew 20:6-7
I can say that my call to the seminary was a simple and direct invitation. In the same manner that Jesus called Matthew, Peter, and Andrew, I think about how Jesus calls people still today. Just like the workers in the vineyard, I was “idle,” unsaved, in need of purpose, and above all, desired to be wanted by a generous, loving God. And so God calls all of us to produce good fruit regardless of our chosen vocation.
