Anointing of the Sick
The Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of healing through which Christ offers strength, peace, and comfort to those who are seriously ill, facing surgery, weakened by age, or experiencing significant physical or spiritual suffering. Through the prayer of the priest and the anointing with blessed oil, the sick receive the grace of the Holy Spirit, forgiveness of sins when needed, and the hope and courage to unite their suffering with the Passion of Christ.
Who May Receive the Anointing of the Sick?
This sacrament is not only for those who are near the end of life, but for anyone facing a serious health condition or a significant moment of physical or spiritual suffering. The sacrament may be received more than once if a person’s condition worsens or they experience another serious illness.
We offer the Anointing of the Sick every second Saturday of the month at the 9:00 AM Mass.
